Through the Business Combination with Seven Generations Energy Ltd. (Seven Generations), ARC was the first natural gas producer in the world to achieve certification under the EO100™ Standard with certification of its Kakwa asset in 2019. This initial certification was the first of its kind for a natural gas producer, and other North American energy producers have since followed suit. In April 2022, ARC received its second certification of their northeast BC assets near Dawson Creek. The final EO100™ Certification of Ante Creek was achieved in December 2022, covering ARC’s full production base of approximately 340,000 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day.

“ARC continues to impress us with their commitment to responsible energy production …  It has been a great collaboration since it all began back in 2017 with Seven Generations Energy.  We are excited to share in this history and to see where ARC has evolved as an energy producer and with their commitment to continuous improvement over time, we are equally excited to see how they grow over the coming years.  We congratulate ARC on a well-deserved achievement,” said Soledad Mills, CEO, Equitable Origin.

Equitable Origin approved assessors evaluated operations at this site against the EO100™ Standard, which includes 500 indicators drawn from global benchmarks spanning corporate governance and ethics; social impacts, human rights, and community engagement; Indigenous Peoples’ Rights; occupational health & safety and fair labor standards; and environmental impacts, biodiversity, and climate change.
