Pacific Canbriam Energy Limited’s Montney Site Achieves EO100™ Certification; First-Ever to Employ Digital Registry Tracking Gas Origin
Equitable Origin is delighted to announce that Pacific Canbriam Energy Limited’s Northeast British Columbia Montney Project has become the second EO100™ certified site in Canada.
Pacific Canbriam was awarded the EO100TM Standard Certification after it demonstrated excellence and met performance targets in five areas: corporate governance and ethics; social impacts, human rights and community engagement; Indigenous Peoples’ rights; occupational health & safety and fair labor standards; and environmental impacts, biodiversity and climate change. The assessment team conducted a comprehensive and independent assurance process by inspecting operations, conducting interviews with workers and contractors, as well as meeting local Indigenous leaders in order to verify Pacific Canbriam’s performance.
Natural gas from the certified site will be listed on Xpansiv Digital Fuels Registry™ to validate and register the gas’s origin, energy content, and methane intensity, derived from independent data sources. Macquarie, a commodities trading company, will supply Québec’s leading natural gas distributor Énergir with natural gas from Pacific Canbriam.
