EO Renewable Energy Panel discusses New Standards
Equitable Origin (EO) is expanding coverage of Energy Project types under the EO100™ Certification to include Onshore Wind and Solar projects. All major infrastructure projects generate impacts and benefits. EO100™ Certification seeks to differentiate and reward better environmental, social and governance performance by Energy projects. EO’s new Technical Supplements have been in development for over 6 months under the supervision of an international expert advisory council. The public comment period closed on June 14.
EO100™ New Standards Lead, Kaki Comer, recently hosted a EO Webinar to discuss the drivers for these new Standards, featuring Daniel Cardenas, CEO of the National Tribal Energy Association (US) and David Berrade, from Renewable Energy project developer ABO Wind (Canada). Speakers stressed the need for genuine partnerships with project host Nations, dialogue, and inclusive approaches and more-sustainable mining practices upstream to overcome emerging social license barriers for new Wind and Solar Projects.
